I had the Tucson hot dog and it was off the hook. One of the best hot dogs I've had in a long time. These guys really do it well so if you're in the area I highly recommend that you stop in, have one of the hot dogs they have on their amazing menu. because they have a lot to select from. With that said really good hot dogs. You guys killed it. Have a great one. Everybody pass by and enjoy an amazing hot dog at The Steamie Weenie. 😁🤙
What a great find. If you like a quality dog. Then look no further. I got a Windy City, aka Chicago Dog. It was fantastic, made to order and served with a smile. Only one employee, but he was helpful, courteous and friendly. Everything about the place was nice from the cartoonist decor to the outstanding dogs. The only complaint I have is the yuppy names and buns out of the bag. It takes reading descriptions to figure out traditional dog names. The buns are neither steamed or toasted on a grill. A little disappointing for a top notch dog joint. Don't let that keep you from trying the place out though. Oh, they have a great selection of old school sodas.
Had seen this place in the Green Valley Shops so decided to go for lunch. Glad I went, service was quick, food delicious.. got the Coney with fries. Prices were good for a quick lunch. I'll be visiting again.
This little place is fantastic! The service was amazing, food was fresh and was ready quickly.
Will definitely be going back. Make sure to get the windy city if you go! One if the best Chicago dogs I've had. And get their ranch for your fries. It was an amazing ranch
Here's the scoop. It's tough to rate a hot dog place when you know what you can already get for $1.50 at Costco. That being said this is a fun place to eat even if you're not into hot dogs and a must try for the hot dog connoisseur.
We got 4 different dogs. They were all excellent but if you build your own they can approach $10 each if you elect for a couple toppings like cheese/bacon/spam. They were good size but not gigantic. So if you're a pretty good size guy and/or extremely hungry, one dog probably isn't going to cut it so now you're looking at $14+ for a couple dogs. No sides (like fries) included so a meal here can get pricey quickly especially considering you're eating hot dogs, not Angus burgers. But I can see how a hot dog fanatic may largely disregard the price here.
Tip: The polish was skinnier than the regular dogs and therefore less filling.
Tip: It's cheaper if you find a specialty dog that has your primary extras than building from scratch.
I can't see making this a regular lunch stop due to the mediocre value but maybe a treat once in a while for hot dog fans.
Also, if you order online for pickup just in case there is a line (there wasn't at lunchtime on a Tuesday) and plan to eat there anyway, you'll need to buy beverages separately when you get there.
Been wanting to try this place for awhile now. Got my chance today. Super glad I did.
I'm a super hotdog aficionado, so this place was right up my alley.
I opted for the 2 standards of the hotdog kingdom, a NY streetdog and Chicago staple
I got the Windy City dog, a true version of a Chicago dog, Vienna Beef dog, with fresh tomatoes, neon green relish, a dill pickle spear, brown mustard, celery salt and sport peppers. The bun was perfect, soft and hot, the dog was also hot all the way thru, had a perfect snap, and the veggies were in the exact amounts, perfectly balanced. I scooped up all the escapee veggies and ate every single tidbit. Pickle was sublime, perfect snap and excellent dill flavor.
The Pushcart dog, was also on a perfect steamed bun, topped with saurkraut, brown mustard and their NY red onion sauce. Delish. The saurkraut was a bit on the heavy side, but easily moved off the excess, to balance each bite. A definite favorite nonetheless.
I glanced at the rest of the menu with one big problem, I've got to come back and try more things on this menu, especially the Tucson dog, my former hometown, and I'll bet my next favorite.
As I told the owner, this wasn't a good dog...it was a great dog.
I highly recommend this place.
Service was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable, place was super clean.
I will be back
If you are craving a hot dog no reason to look any place else. They have a good selection and you can also make your own. A little on the pricer side for a hotdog but we'll worth it.
We loved everything we ordered! The house Steamie sauce was excellent. We ordered the Salchipapas, a Jalapeno Popper, the Mac & Cheese and Cheese, fried pickles (because always order the fried pickles), and a bacon wrapped dog with bbq sauce, cheese and crunchy onions. We also grabbed two of their specialty sodas which we enjoyed also. The menu is a lot of fun and we look forward to trying several more items.
